Director Wanted for 2018 Production!

The Saint James Players (SJP) of Montclair, NJ seeks a director for the troupe’s production of a Shakespeare play, to be performed across two weekends: September 14-16 and 21-22 (2018). The SJP, which performs in the historic sanctuary of Saint James Church in Montclair, is in its eighth year of providing free Shakespeare to the Northern New Jersey community. The 2017 production of As You Like It (which drew more than 500 people across two weekends of five performances) included a cast and crew of 30+ people, ranging in age from eight to eighty and spanning levels of experience from seasoned actors to first-time performers. The SJP operates under the guidance of a board of directors, which works with the director to determine play selection, as well as providing counsel regarding the casting process. This non-compensated position requires the commitment of at least two nights per week during the rehearsal process.
